Ingo Maurer Con Qui Table and floor lamp
The Ingo Maurer Con Qui table and floor lamp is infinitely dimmable via a dimmer with slide regulator on the cable. The lampshade made of paper is produced by hand, and up to eight different working steps are carried out during the manufacture of the lamp. The patented process is based on a traditional textile dyeing technique from Japan. Therefore every lamp is unique, although all the shades look the same. The illuminant is placed inside the shade and illuminates the room so diffusely. The individual folds of the shade are also lighted, resulting in an indirect light effect. The Con Qui was created in 1998 by Ingo Maurer, Dagmar Mombach and Maurer's designer team as part of the MaMo Nouchies lamps. The MaMo Nouchies was created after an inspiration by the Japanese sculptor Isamu Noguchi. The lampshades of this collection consist of elaborately processed paper, which is drawn and folded into the desired shape by hand.
