Ingo Maurer Watapunga floor lamp
The Ingo Maurer Watapunga was designed by Ingo Maurer, Dagmar Mombach and Maurer's design team in 1998. At that time the floor lamp was called The Tribe: Aikaduli / Watapunga. The Aikaduli was 15 cm higher than the Watapunga and had a similar shaped lampshade like it. Like the other lamps, which belong to the MaMo Nouchies lighting group, the Watapunga has a lavishly manufactured lampshade. The shade is manually folded and drawn in several operations until it reaches its final shape. This makes each lamp in this series unique. A mirror is integrated above the shade, which is adjustable and reflects the light into the room. The transparent shade in natural white emits its light in all directions glare-free. With the dimmer on the cable, the light intensity can be dimmed steplessly. The base is made of steel. The floor lamp is a tribute to works by the Japanese sculptor Isamu Noguchi, who was inspired by the traditional Japanese craftsmanship Akari.
